Enduro Adventure

While the outlook for riding during the winter period is typically grim in the UK, the turn of the new year is an exciting time as most motorcycle manufacturers choose to unveil and launch their newest motorcycles. This includes the all-new innovative Triumph adaptive cornering lighting to deliver dynamic enhanced visibility when cornering, along with the new angle adjustable, full-colour TFT instrument display, all-LED lighting, ergonomic backlit switchgear incorporating updated cruise control, new Triumph shift-assist for clutchless up and down gear changes, a seamless keyless ignition, and an all-new 'Off-Road Pro' riding mode on XC models.

At one end, you can fit out an Enduro bike with luggage and head for the hills; at the other, you have large capacity road bikes with an extra bit of suspension travel and a high front mudguard. Some manufacturers approached the trend from the opposite direction, beginning with a street motorcycle and modifying it for adequate off-road performance.

The off road rides are primarily beginner and intermediate dirt roads and include the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route and parts of the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route. Many bikes have fairly high seat heights, performance off-road bikes (suitable for adventure riding) normally have even higher seat heights.

THe wee strom is the best sorted all round adventure bike-popular world wide and a lot cheaper than a BMw. Triumph's Tiger 800 range has been a best seller for years and for 2018 there's a new selection of three on-road and three off-road models. Motorcycles brought them together, and just saying yes has brought new adventure in to their lives, as they travel around the world.

To some riders, this is an issue, but if you're really into adventure riding, the less things that can go wrong, the better. A mid-sized adventure bike normally weighs in between 140 kg to 180 kg (fuelled without gear).

Some people feel there aren't enough smaller motorcycles, training is too expensive, or that the industry doesn't make motorcycling appealing enough to possible young riders, entry level riders or women riders.
